Welcome to TRuST, an independent consultancy offering Trauma-informed Research & evalUation, Coaching,
Support & Training by Dr Natalie Edelman
About me
I’ve been a health researcher for over 25 years after starting off with a nursing degree where I was introduced to the wonderful world of research. In my consultancy I combine research work with trauma-informed service support, coaching and training. A senior applied health researcher and methodologist, certified trauma-informed coach and ex-nurse, I draw on my diverse skillset to provide bespoke services to individuals and organisations including trauma-informed perspectives as needed. I have a PhD in social epidemiology and am also expert in trauma-informed approaches, co-production and other forms of lay involvement, as well as in survey design, qualitative methods and systematic literature review. I designed the Trauma and Resilience informed Research Principles & Practices framework to improve inclusivity and wellbeing in research for not only potential participants but research staff, as I set out in the book Qualitative Researcher Vulnerability | Negotiating, Experiencing and E (taylorfrancis.com). My own research has focused on seldom heard populations and community-based screening and service delivery particularly in relation to mental, sexual and reproductive health (you can find my papers here). Having worked as a research methodologist for the National Institute for Health Research for many years, I am expert in working with lay people, clinicians and aspiring researchers, drawing also on my experience as a Registered General Nurse and my trauma-informed coach training. Please take the time to look around my website and see how I might support you or your organisation in your needs and aspirations or simply get in touch with an enquiry.
